I created this site to share with you all of our delicious recipes. I have compiled many family recipes, modern recipes, and so much more. My love for cooking and baking inspired me to start my own blog and my own youtube channel so I can share with you all things cooking and baking.
This in one of our favorite dishes that My family and I always get for “Take-Out”. I recreated this wonderful dish and made it easy to make at home and you get that “take-Out” flavor. It is so good that we make this at least once a week.
To us, It is better than take out and it is so easy to make. So, let’s get started.
Beef And Broccoli
MARINADE: 8 oz beef – thinly sliced 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine 2 tsp soy sauce 1 tsp cornstarch 1/2 tsp pepper 1/4 tsp baking soda 1 tsp oil
combine the marinade ingredients and add to the beef. Mix to combine well. Set aside.
Combine all ingredients for the the sauce and set aside.
Cut the broccoli into bite size pieces and blanch in hot water for 1 to 2 minutes. Place in cold water to stop the cooking and to keep that bright green color. Drain. Set aside.
Over high heat in a wok or non stick skillet add the heat to high and let the pan get hot (if using a wok) keep the pan over medium heat for a non stick skillet. Add the oil and swirl around the pan.
Add the beef and separate as best as you can. Cook 20 to 30 seconds before tossing. Allow the beef to cook 20 to 30 seconds. Remove and set aside.
Add a bit more oil and add the garlic. Cook for 5 to 10 seconds. Add the sauce and stir to thicken. Add the broccoli and stir. Add the beef back in and toss to coat. Remove to a serving plate and serve with rice.
Hello Everyone!
Thank you so much for stopping by. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I am a mom of two, a stepmom of 1, two wild and silly pups, and I have the best husband in the world. I also have a love of cooking and baking. I am always in the kitchen finding new recipes to try, recreating old family recipes, and reminiscing about the old ways. I am vintage at heart and love all things old and cast iron. I love spending time with the family and pups and just going where life takes us.
I created my blog a few years ago with my youtube channel because I thought that If I shared a recipe, then people just might like to see just how the recipe is put together. I share all of my family recipes along with today's recipes. Whether it is old-fashioned recipes, sourdough, einkorn, desserts, sheet pan meals, or even crockpot meals, they are all absolutely delicious.
I spend hours, if not days, creating and dabbling with recipes to make sure they are the best for you and your family. All of my recipes are family tested and family-approved before they are ever posted to my blog or youtube channel.
Every now and again I will share some behind-the-scenes fun and chaos of our creations and family adventures. I hope you all stick around and join us here at The Southern Rustic and see what we cook up in my kitchen. You can find all of my social media information in the Contact/Donate OR the Social Media Accounts tab on my home page. There I have listed my Instagram pages, YouTube channel, Email, and other information so you can easily find everything in one place.
I hope that you all have a wonderful, wonderful day and I will see you soon.
Sam
