Hey, Ya’ll!
I’m Sam and welcome to my Southern Rustic Kitchen! Let me tell you a little bit about me.
Ever since I was a little girl I have loved to cook and bake. It is something that has always inspired me. I would watch all of the incredible chefs and cooks on all of the cooking channels and shows while visiting my aunt and uncle. My grandmother and my aunt would always let me help in the kitchen. We would always whip up some of their favorite meals. This is where I learned to cook everything from biscuits to desserts. They taught me how to make pastry for pies, gravies for any meal, how to whip egg whites by hand, how to sear meat, how to frost cakes, and everything in between.
Carrying that over into my young teen years, after my grandmother passed, my father stepped in and picked up where she left off in the kitchen. Not only did he continue to teach me how to cook, but he also taught me how to ride a 4-wheeler, saddle a horse, how to mend the fences as well as put them up, how to milk cows, how to fish, how to plant and harvest crops, and everything that has to do with the farm life. I enjoyed every minute of it. It taught me a lot about living, work ethics, putting in the work, and reaping the benefits of it. Cooking and baking were calming to me. It taught me how to slow down and yet taught me to put just as much energy into my cooking and baking as I did for farming.
My grandmother always said that “Good food is made with love from the heart”. My father always told me that ” a way to a person’s heart is through food” so creating and serving good food became my love language. Now my grandmother, my aunt, and my father have all passed and I miss them all dearly, but they are always with me in the kitchen. So, the kitchen is where I feel most comfortable. I have learned all of the ins and outs of the kitchen, for the most part, and I love sharing all of my recipes with those I love, and that includes you. A lot of time, work, flour, and spices have gone into creating all of these tasty dishes. I am so excited to share with you all of the recipes I have created as well as meals that I’ve had growing up. From “From Scratch” meals to “Semi-homemade” I am here to show you, that you can make delicious meals at home.
I hope these recipes inspire you to get in the kitchen and make or create some tasty meals for your family.

Thank you. Yes, I designed it myself in a manner of speaking. This is a WordPress website; you can design your own through their options. It is really easy to design your own and they have tons of options you can choose from.
