This is one of my favorite renditions of guacamole. It is simply amazing. I love it everything from taco’s to toast. It has an amazing flavor and a wonderful spice that just goes well with the creaminess of the avocado. I love adding this to soups as a topper or just placed on the top of toast with nooch. Either way, you decide to eat this delicious guacamole you are going to enjoy it.
INGREDIENTS:
1 ripe avocado
1 lime, juiced
1/4 red onion, diced finely
1 small tomato, diced in small chunks
1/2 red chili, seeded, diced very finely
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3/4 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp cilantro, fresh, diced fine
salt to taste
DIRECTIONS:
- In a medium-size bowl add your avocado and smash with a fork until smooth.
- Add in the lime juice and mix until well combined.
- Add the chili, chili powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cilantro and mix until well combined.
- Add the onion and tomato and mix until combined. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to sit in the fridge for about 1 hour so the flavors develop.
- After the hour is up you can use this for whatever you desire. Keep this in an airtight container up to two days max. anything longer than that the avocado will start to turn brown.
I make this recipe a lot. my family loves it when I make it. I double the recipe when I make it as a dip for chips or veggies. I love making it for a topper for my jackfruit tacos or my Mexican inspired soups like my tortilla soup. I make that soup a lot during the winter months.
This picture is My Chili-Lime Guacamole on toast with a side of fresh pear from my pear tree. super delicious and filling for breakfast or lunch.

Hello Everyone!
Thank you so much for stopping by. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I am a mom of two, a stepmom of 1, two wild and silly pups, and I have the best husband in the world. I also have a love of cooking and baking. I am always in the kitchen finding new recipes to try, recreating old family recipes, and reminiscing about the old ways. I am vintage at heart and love all things old and cast iron. I love spending time with the family and pups and just going where life takes us.
I created my blog a few years ago with my youtube channel because I thought that If I shared a recipe, then people just might like to see just how the recipe is put together. I share all of my family recipes along with today's recipes. Whether it is old-fashioned recipes, sourdough, einkorn, desserts, sheet pan meals, or even crockpot meals, they are all absolutely delicious.
I spend hours, if not days, creating and dabbling with recipes to make sure they are the best for you and your family. All of my recipes are family tested and family-approved before they are ever posted to my blog or youtube channel.
Every now and again I will share some behind-the-scenes fun and chaos of our creations and family adventures. I hope you all stick around and join us here at The Southern Rustic and see what we cook up in my kitchen. You can find all of my social media information in the Contact/Donate OR the Social Media Accounts tab on my home page. There I have listed my Instagram pages, YouTube channel, Email, and other information so you can easily find everything in one place.
I hope that you all have a wonderful, wonderful day and I will see you soon.
Sam
