I love testing recipes, Especially smoothies. There are so many recipes that have been created and waiting to be created. When you play around with fruit and veggies in a smoothie, the sky is the limit. You can make sweet, savory, green and everything in between.
In this recipe, I played around with cocoa powder and peanut butter powder until I created this recipe. It is naturally sweetened with the very ripe banana and it also makes it very creamy. The cocoa powder makes it slightly chocolaty with the undertone of the peanut butter. The flax and hemp seeds give you a bit of protein and it helps fuel you to keep you going and not only that, It soothes that sweet tooth.
1 banana, frozen
1 tbsp hemp seeds
3/4 tbsp flax seeds
1/4 tsp maca powder
1 1/2 tbsp peanut butter powder
1 3/4 tbsp cocoa or cacao powder
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tbsp cocoa nibs
1 1/2 cups rice milk or other plant-based milk of choice
- in a blender combine all ingredients and blend until completely smooth. pour into a glass or mug and enjoy!
