This is just a basic recipe for cabbage slaw. It is very versatile and you can add or omit anything from it. If you like it sweet, add sugar. If you like it salty, add more salt. if you like it tangier add pickles. However, you like it do it. You are the boss of your kitchen. Go for it. Here is what you will need.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 Head of cabbage ( i use green but you can use purple)
1/2 cup of mayo ( or vegan mayo)
2 1/2 tbsp sugar ( to taste)
1/2 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
DIRECTIONS:
- In a bowl combine the mayo, sugar, salt, pepper, and vinegar and whisk until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
- In a large bowl add your cabbage and pour over the sauce. Toss to combine well. cover with wrap or lid and let sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Toss again before serving as the sauce will settle at the bottom of the bowl. Serve cold or room temp. Store in the fridge.
